Podium Labs, powered by Arena Hub and Catarina Capital

 

1. PRESENTATION

 

Arena HUB, in partnership with Catarina Capital, announces the opening of registrations for the Peneira program, the first open innovation program of the accelerator Podium.

 

Arena HUB is a center for innovation and fostering entrepreneurship with a focus on sports and entertainment, headquartered at Allianz Parque. The center is formed by 3 fundamental pillars, which are: maintaining companies, which support and invest in sector innovation initiatives; startups, which offer technologies to solve industry problems and; industry partners, which involves entities, clubs, leagues, federations, professionals and athletes. Currently, there are more than 25 partner entities of the initiative. Catarina Capital, in turn, is a manager focused 100% on technology assets to offer the market complementary investment products, aimed at obtaining returns and contributing to the demands for the development of innovation ecosystems.

 

Podium Labs is a program aimed at startups with business models aimed at the Sports Industry, which offer solutions to the challenges that different agents of this industry face, aiming at the generation of new products and services with high added value. Podium Labs seeks to find and boost startups through entrepreneurial training and education, in addition to a direct connection with the sports innovation ecosystem and the generation of new businesses, through the Podium network. The selected startups will receive support to find angel investors and / or to increase the number of customers and / or to move to an acceleration program.

 

2. PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC CALL

 

2.1. Select startups that will be boosted in their businesses that involve solutions for the Sports Industry through strategic partnerships with the Podium network.

 

3. SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM

 

Podium Labs aims to attract startups with characteristics described in item 5, from anywhere in the world, with solutions in Fan Engagement, Human Performance and Wellness, Smart Spaces, Knowledge, Sports Business Intelligence, E-Sports and Gamification, Media and Content and Social Impact / Sustainability.

 

3.1. Expected results

 

Participating startups are expected to achieve one or more of the following objectives:

3.1.1. Definition of traction strategy.

3.1.2. Access to new markets.

3.1.3. Evolution of the solutions roadmap for the Sports Industry.

4. INTENDED ACTIVITIES

 

The Podium Labs program includes the following activities, which the selected startups will be entitled to:

4.1. Trainings with specialists from Arena HUB, from Catarina Capital and partners in workshops, meetups and video classes in order to provide information and insights for the improvement of the business model and traction strategy.

4.2. Mentoring with experts in business, technologies and people with the aim of improving and evaluating selected startups.

4.3. Presentation of startups for the Arena HUB ecosystem.

 

5. TARGET AUDIENCE

 

The target audience of this call are technology startups with solutions in the areas of:

- Fan Engagement: Fan behavior, 360 ° consumer, better experiences for fans, cross-selling and upselling;

- Human Performance and Wellness: Improving the effectiveness of training and rehearsals, anticipating health problems, neuroscience focusing on the performance of athletes;

- Intelligent spaces: improved security (biometrics / facial recognition), efficient use of spaces, new experiences in Arenas

- Knowledge: solutions for education at scale, training of professionals, athletes and young people;

- Sports Business Intelligence: digitalization of processes and documents, agility with increased communication and collaboration, reduction of financial and information losses;

- eSports and Gamification: game development, relationship with the public and creation of communities, enhancing business and brands with digital activities

- Media and Content: creation of content based on data and artificial intelligence, best communication practices and sponsorship offer, monetization of digital sports content;

- Social Impact / Sustainability: solutions to social conflicts through sport.

 

5.1. Prerequisites for participation in the selection process:

- Be a technology startup in the areas of the program's target audience;

- Have a product in the areas of the program's target audience;

- To have a business model with existing income (transactional, SaaS, hybrid);

- Have availability to participate in the program's activities.

 

6. CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCESS

 

6.1 Registration.

Registration will be free and can only be done online between 02/23/2021 and 03/31/2020 on the website (www.arenahub.com.br/).

 

6.2 Selection.

The selection of companies will take place in three stages:

6.2.1 Selection of 30 startups: Up to 30 companies will be selected for online interview.

6.2.2 Selection of 20 startups: Among the 30 from the previous stage, 20 startups will be selected for the pre-acceleration phase, with the objective of joining the entrepreneurial training and business generation program.

6.2.3 Selection of 10 startups: Among the 20 pre-accelerated, 10 will be chosen to participate in the acceleration program.

 

6.3 Selection Criteria

Selection of the 30 startups (6.2.1): Fit with the program, company internship and adaptation to the prerequisites. The selection will be based on the information provided on the registration form.

Selection of the 20 startups (6.2.2): Fit with the program, synergy with the Sports Industry, Business, Technology and Team. The companies will be evaluated by the acceleration team (Business evaluation) and Catarina's team (Time and Technology evaluation).

Selection of the 10 startups (6.2.3): Fit with the program, synergy with the Sports Industry, Business, Technology and Team. The companies will be evaluated by the acceleration team (Business evaluation), Catarina team (Time and Technology evaluation) and the Analysis Committee (Business Opportunities).
